About the Arangetram

This one-of-a-kind Arangetram has, over the years, become a celebration that brings together people from diverse walks of life—truly reflecting the spirit of Unity in Diversity.

The evening’s program will feature the traditional Bharatanatyam Margam in the Vazhuvoor Bhani, performed to the accompaniment of a live orchestra of stalwarts in the field from Chennai.

Adding to the grandeur, the evening will be graced by the presence of legendary Bharatanatyam exponents, eminent artists, and distinguished cultural patrons and bureaucrats, whose support continues to uplift and sustain the classical arts.

Aligned with the motto of Sattvika School

“Empowerment, Equality, and Environmental Awareness through Arts”

this Arangetram stands as a testimony to the transformative power of classical dance.

Special Presentation – “Dharma of the Forest”

A highlight of the evening will be the original choreography “Dharma of the Forest” by Dr. Sathya S.N.

This imaginative piece is a dialogue between Seetha Devi and Lord Rama during their forest exile. With Seetha’s awe at the forest as a “Temple without walls” and Rama’s explanation of the Dharma of the forest, the presentation blends devotion, ecology, and storytelling through dance.

The performance portrays:

  • The joyful dance of Rama, Seetha, and the forest’s creatures
  • The food chain and circle of life
  • The ant as a symbol of duty consciousness
  • The honey badger as a symbol of strength and courage
  • The universal truth of equality and duty governing the forest

Through this creation, Dr. Sathya’s artistry brings forth a powerful vision of how art, environment, and equality converge
